Naresh C. Rao, DO FAOASM is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. He had been practicing Sports and Wellness Medicine for 10 years in San Diego California before relocating back to his roots in New York in 2011. He had been on faculty as an instructor at the University of California San Diego, San Diego State University and Western University of Health Sciences. He currently is serving as clinical faculty at NYU School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Family Medicine Residency, and North Shore/LIJ Plainview Hospital Sport Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Rao currently serves as head team physician for Men's USA Water Polo. He serves on the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee for the World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman, International).  He most recently was selected to be a physician for Team USA at the 2015 Pan American Games.

Dr. Naresh Rao has been a contributing author for several medical books and articles for scientific journals. He lectures frequently on sports medicine and wellness related topics. He is author to "Step Up Your Game: The Revolutionary Program Elite Athletes Use to Increase Performance and Achieve Total Health", which is to be published January 2016 by Sports Publishing.

Dr. Rao is a competitive tennis player, had completed the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon in 2006, and played water polo at Colgate University. His love for sports thoroughly pervades his professional and personal life. He is a swimming and water polo coach for the New York Athletic Club's Saturday Morning Program.  He donates his time often to educated children on health and wellness and has a strong belief in giving back to the community though philanthropy. He is happily married to his wife of over 14 years and has two children.
